Christmas / New Year’s Purchases

DSC_0548December is definitely my most favourite month of the year. There is something about the feeling leading up to Christmas that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

And then Christmas arrived and I hope I am not the only one feeling ‘Ok, now what?’ But let’s not be deflated because of course we have the Boxing Day sales to look forward to.

When I first moved to London, I would go crazy during the sales but as the years go by (and I guess I become older and wiser) I don’t go crazy during the sales anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I still buy stuff during the sales, I mean come on, who doesn’t love bargain hunting, right? Instead I just become a wiser and more selective shopper.

So as we approach the end of January when most of the sales have ended or all the good stuff have been snapped, I thought I’d do a quick post about what I purchased from the sales.

First up is this beautiful Austin Floor Lamp in Copper which I got from made.com. It is no longer on sales but at the time I bought it the price was reduced from £79 to £49. I had my eye on this for so many months leading up to Christmas and I am sure glad I waited. IMG_2801

The second item I grabbed from the sales was the classic case of being at the right place at the right time. Between Christmas and New Year I had to send my watch to get its battery replaced. As I was waiting for the paperwork to be prepared, I wandered around and spotted this watch which was on sale.

It is still a lot to pay but it was within what I would pay for a watch maker watch. I was sold as soon as I was told that the leather strap is made of crocodile skin.

The next item is something that I bought from net-a-porter, a metallic crochet-knit poncho from Missoni for £62!Screen Shot 2016-01-23 at 16.14.02

I have been thinking about getting a Bose headphones and you can imagine my excitement when they had some on sales. They are not for daily use (I have a fairly short commute to work) and I foresee myself using the headphones when I travel long distance only. Therefore it took me a while to get myself a pair because as you know Bose headphones prices leaned towards to more expensive side but the sound quality is beyond amazing. I have a Bose surround system at home and I knew I wanted to stick to the brand based on the sound experience I’ve had. The pair I bought are not from the noise cancelling range but after giving them a try at their Regent’s Street store, I was happy with the sound quality of these. They are discounted by 50% until the end of the month or until the stocks deplete, so hurry up if you want one!

Finally, because I am an Apple freak, I thought it will be nice to start the new year with a new phone. The rose gold colour is so spot on and let’s face it, if you want to get a new phone, you may as well choose the colour that is not yet in your collection.

So these are all my purchases during the sales period which I am pretty happy with. They are serious quality products which didn’t cause too much dent on my bank account. x
